Deep Sea Merfolk
Deep Sea Merfolk are half-humanoid sea creatures that live within the deepest recesses of their ocean. They are incredibly intuitive individuals especially when it comes to emotions as well as very lucky. It is up to the individual merfolk if they would like to share their luck with their companion.

Within the realm that we have relations with, there are many Deep Sea Merfolk clans within their vast ocean. Their realm does not entirely consist of the ocean, unlike other realms. Instead, there are beings that live on land. However, the depths in which the Deep Sea Merfolk live are incredibly deep, so many do not attempt to see them unless they are already well-equipped to deal with the high pressures of being so deep within the ocean. It’s come to the point where the Deep Sea Merfolk are almost a legend to those who live on land.

Deep Sea Merfolk are incredibly tight-knit within their clans. They barely go outside of their respective clans to make relations. This is due to ancient history that led to the isolation of the clans. They started distrusting outsiders as much as possible. If an outsider somehow does come to them for help, they are given the bare minimum until the Merfolk believe they can be trusted through thorough vetting. Some leaders wish to do away with this isolation and to bring back community between all clans and more.

Deep Sea Merfolk often look like typical mermaids, however with dark blue (almost black) skin. They often wear their hair long and flowing and their eyes glow even in the darkest trenches. Their hands are accompanied with webs and their tails are usually a lighter shade of their skin. Their ears are pointed and long, like elves. Leaders have markings on their face to indicate they’re from the leading bloodline. These markings vary from clan to clan.
